First, you will have to earn a bachelor’s degree through an accredited program. Usually candidates will earn this degree in criminal justice or some other choice that is relevant to the job. majority of the customs agents that get hired will have an associate’s degree or higher in either criminal justice, psychology, or security management. Also, if you have knowledge of a language other than English, you are going to have a much better chance at getting noticed for employment. There are a variety of tests and exams that candidates will have to pass after graduation as well. There is also an extensive background check that is going to be conducted as well, as they have to be sure they are entrusting only the best with this sort of responsibility. Then those that are selected can move on to a training program that can last up to two years, then placed at their first duty station
